Today is a post about the Maybelline Masterprecise Liquid Eyeliner.
I got mine in the color Black, and I was so excited to give this thing a try! I have really been making an effort to attempt liquid eyeliner on my lash line, and become an expert at the "cat flick". The packaging of this eyeliner reminded me of the "Stila Stay all Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner" which I have been dying to get my hands on.
The claims of this eyeliner were that it would have 12 hour wear, would be able to create a pigmented, continuous line, and is safe for sensitive eyes and contact wearers.
I will give it to Maybelline that the line is black and with the 0.4 mm tip it is very easy to control where you want your eyeliner to go. Also, being a contact wearer, I can say that this did not irritate my eyes at all.
That being said, this eyeliner did not stay for 12 hours. In fact, on me, it didn't last 4 hours. I do not have particularly oily eyelids, and I used a primer before applying this eyeliner, considering I wear primer daily. I went to class and my eyeliner looked fine, however the second I got home and looked in the mirror I noticed it start to fade slightly, however I was impressed at first. I sat in bed for a little while on my laptop doing homework and such, and when I went and looked in the mirror (approx. after wearing this for 4 hours) the eyeliner was down my face.
Safe to say I'm not going to reach for this eyeliner on a daily basis. Maybe I will try and give it a go a couple more times, but making sure to be prepared in case it decides to melt all over my face again. Also, I am by no means an expert in makeup and I'm not very crafty at getting bad makeup to work, so if you are maybe you can figure out a way for this to work and let me know if you do!
Does anyone know if this eyeliner comes in a waterproof formula? Maybe that will make the lasting power a lot better.
Thank you for reading!
I hate writing negative posts, but I wanted to inform you guys in case you were thinking of trying this to just be warned of my experience!
